Barefoot World Atlas App Reviews

so happy to have discovered this app

My three year-old absolutely loves this app, as do I. Its so rich in content and easy to navigate that although we often explore it together, she enjoys using it by herself and hearing the information read to her. She cant wait for Dinosaur Planet and Animal Planet expansions, and Im looking forward to Wacky and Weird expansion. Thank you for such a great product! Hats off to you!

update sizes cripples sync

Updates don’t appear to be incremental, but all over 1 GB in size, crippling the machine, devices, wifi network, and routine syncs when the update is prompted. The most recent update is 1.33 GB. That’s insane for a mobile app.

LOVE the concept, but it quits all the time

My kids and I use this app every day, as much as we are able. But if we want to view photos of all the items on the globe it quits. Every time. Great app, still. It was gifted to us so Im not sure I would buy it knowing that it quits as often as it does.

Too much space

Love the idea. But each update gets bigger. Takes too much space for smaller byte iPads. Will significantly limit the use of your iPad for other apps. Can no longer update the app because it keeps getting bigger.

Stop the madness!

Why oh Why must we download over 1 gig EVERY time you have an update? There are ways to write an app that avoids this. Some of us DO have data caps.

So great

Such an enriching and educational app. It can teach geography, multicultural education, social studies, etc. I cant wait to use it with my second graders. Thank you!

No more >1gb updates!!!

Im through with this app. It has become a real nuisance and its the only app I deliberately ignore updates for. After this post, I am deleting the app altogether. I cant think of ANY other app in the App Store with updates this large. #APPFAIL

Nice app but the giant updates every month are a deal breaker

My son’s enjoyed this app for a while - and he loved the football pack when it came out. Unfortunately, I have to delete it from my phone and iPad and reinstall every time you update it - and you update it a lot. Especially annoying is the fact that each update seems to be only about selling a new add-on product. I think it’s time you read the instructions in the software developers’ kit about how to enable in-app purchases without forcing users to re-download a 1-GB+ app.

Students and I LOVE Barefoot Atlas

I just bought the USA in-app pack. I rarely purchase in-apps, but this app is definitely worth the price although higher than most. The support of the developers is also phenomenal. Had a question and got an answer in less than 24 hours!

Crashed all the time

App crashed on iPad Air 2 and iOS 8.1 within 5 minutes of opening all the time.

Fix crashes!

I cant even use the app for more than 10 seconds on my IPad Air 2. fix and it gets 5 stars

Crashes

Crashes every time on the iPad Air w with iOS 8.1.

Crash crash crash crash! Junk!

I have a brand new iPad Air 2 and this app has crashed every time I have tried to use it. I cant even get 10 seconds into it before it totally quits. Lame! After 20 tries I gave up.

iPad Air 2 bug fixed, very fun app!

Love it, thanks!

Cooooool !!!

Its a very good app. its fun to have it and it helps you to learning name of the popular places

1.5GB!!

Its a huge app and took up too much space on my phone so I deleted it. I got it thinking it would be good for my daughter to use, but when I went to use it it wasnt interactive in as interesting a way as Id hoped. Lots of data, of course, and good if that is what you are looking for.

Neat but huge footprint

The app takes 1.5 GB

Too big

Would give it 5 stars if it didnt use so much space.

Still Harvests Data by Default

I recommend those who havent bought the app, to avoid this app. And those who bought the app to not make any in app purchases until the developers stop harvesting data. As long as they harvest by default, the developers are not to be trusted. And the fact so many people have complained and they still refuse to stop just adds to the long list of reasons not to trust them or support them.

Wrong rating

The app is rated for ages 4 and up, however in a section showing famous works of art I came across a painting of a bare breasted woman. No, it does not matter that the painting is old, famous, or meaningful; it does not need to be part of an app for children.
